I have seen only people who made their parents proud.I didn't made any of them.

A massively culturally dependent question! So I refust to comment which is better on the grounds of not getting flamed!

If my parents are proud of me - all well and good. But I feel under no obligation to arrange my life in order to please them. I adopt the same approach to my kids. My wife, being from a S.E. Asian culture, feels the pressure of Filial Piety very strongly.

Why be proud at all, though? "A haughty spirit comes before a fall, pride before destruction".
