Hi guys,
After working in ABAP for one year... what will be the expected experience from a two years experience ABAPer?
I have three years of experience in .NET and one year experience in ABAP.
I have finished my training a year ago in ABAP.
Any suggestion?

Hi!
i recommend you to get into some job sites, look at requirements most of the companies ask for 2 years guy, among that be good atleast at 5 things, other things try to have basic knowledge, be good at modules you work on,
this must keep you good in the market,
Regards
Rajesh

Hi Maen,
Hahahaha... yeah, it was a long time ago... and today, I am "old" enough... Anyway, I am a bit free so i was thinking, "out with old" and clean up my profile... in fact Julius had helped deleted my two old "bad" threads...
never too late...

HI Irrespective of the number of years of experience in ABAP, one expects you to work in all areas of abap like reports, interactive reports, alv's bdc's, interfaces, bapis, sap scripts, smart forms, transactions,ale/idocs etc.

Hi William,
i think that for a 2 year experienced ABAPer there are some skills that shuold be a must:
- batch input
- report/module pool programming
- SAP Scripts or SMART Forms
- Knowledge of Data Dictionary
- User-exit, FI validations, Badi
- SAP standard modifications
but additional skills could be requested (it depends by the customer):
- Basic knowledge of 1 or more modules (FI,CO,MM ...) from a technical point of view (tables, frequently used functions modules ecc..)
- Idocs

Hello William,
This is a rather difficult question, due to it's highly subjective nature. What an employer wants is something that cannot really be predicted.
some of them might want very strong skills in SAP Script and SMARTFORMS, while they really may not care if you have not worked on BDC. Some may want very good knowledge about the BADI and User-Exits concepts, while they don't mind if you are not familiar with LSMW, for instance.
If you're looking for a job, then please read the job requirements carefully. That is the best source for the kind of information you're seeking.
