We have been talking about theory all these days. Let's invent something touchable in real world.

I have made a pair 3D glasses. With it we can watch true color 3D stereo movie on computer, we can see 3D stereo pictures on book. And the glasses are cheap, it only cost $2 if it can be produced in factories. Be quiet, the 3D cinema owners will kill me if they know about it.

Guess, how I made it?

Some hints. What I used to make the glasses:

polarized filter, refraction lense

Note you not need to blink when you watch 3D video or 3D book.

I think I can see it now...

More tips:

A helmet, some ducktape, a rubber band and a counter-weight.

The first hands-free kits for cellphones were developed using this technique as well..

Enjoy the weekend,

Julius - you forgot the extension chord.

Hansen - is there any kind of lens other than a refraction lens?

Well, you can focus light with mirrors, so I suppose that could be considered to be a lens. And of course there are diffraction lenses like Fresnel zone lenses.

... btw, Hansen Chen. Are you aware that posting the same message in more than one forums is against the rules...?

Lenses are lenses and mirrors are mirrors; I forgot about fresnel lenses (but I think they still refract).

They use a combination of diffraction and refraction to reduce the volume of the lense.

btw - what's the difference between a lens and a lense?

I'm aware of fresnel leses and fresnel diffraction, but I didn't know that fresnel lenses used diffraction as well as refraction.

PS - I thought a lense was a german lens

After Visiting Universal Studios, I am over with 3-D.

Now my new liking is 4-D.

Any thoughts to how to simulate the same on a computer screen or Television?

Is it when they sprinkle water and blow wind on you while you watch 3D?
