Virtual "keypresses" in SAP

Sometimes it would be good, if the SAP does not disconnect me, if I go away from the computer for more then 10 minutes. Now the SAP is disconnecting me after 10 minutes inactivity.

Is there a way to longer this time interval, without any basis relevant permissions?

I can check in SM04, when was my last keypress, I was thinking about to make "keypresses" through an ABAP program, f.e. in all 5 minutes.

Is it possible or not? Of course this is not a question between life and death, it would be just make the life easier and could be avoid with it some accidentally data loss, if I forget to save things...

Thank you in advance

Tamá

I would recommend first trying to change the parameter and compensate for it via password enabled PC screensaver and locking your office door when you go for a coffee.

There were some old audit manuals doing the rounds which recommended setting this parameter to a short time period. I am sure you are not the only person irritated by this...

you could try a simple solution like that :

it is simple and has the same effect.

Lol.

If one of these guys is not at hand, and you cannot change profile parameter rdisp/gui_auto_logout, then you could maybe use function module SAPGUI_SET_FUNCTIONCODE together with a WAIT statement in a loop...let me know if it works

Brilliant!

The same solution used by Robert G. Durant in the movie "DarkMan".

Yea, cool idea

Hmm... How will they switch to SAP, if the focus is on an another application? I have to buy 2 more, to press alt-tab as well

jap, i think i should patent this innovation before sap does it like that. my vision is, that some day every person working with sap has got such a thing on his desk. I am going to be rich. yeah that's really great, that's future.

or may be you could secretly patent the idea and wait for SAP to implement the same. Then you could sue SAP for Billions of dollars

It looks like too complicated a solution. When I were a lad, we made do with a stapler resting on the "Enter" key.

Which in turn reminds me of the term "Ashtray CATT", from the days smoking was still allowed in the office....... Tape dispensers are my favourite nowadays as they are often fairly heavy by design.

I heard in the scientific community that it is popular to design laboritories in such a way that a centrifuge or accilator is always located on the right hand side of the computer terminal, unless the operator is left-handed.

I used to deploy coffee mugs for this purpose.

Problem was that whenever I lifted the mug to take a sip, processing would stop right there. After some analysis I got myself a second mug.

>Solved by myself.
