> @ Anton: Any chance of organizing a Wolperdinger Jagd for Vienna? I can help on that score. Long story...
I think all foreigners need to be introduced to the fine tradition and nuances of the famous Wolperdinger hunt.
It would be precious if we could arrange such an outing, Mark.
P.S. Unfortunately where I grew up in the Black Forest, the Wolperdingers where not as common, we were more blessed with the very shy but curious Elwetritsches.

although there is no Wolpertinger in and around Vienna you find another beast, the famous [Reblaus|http://nolatari.heim.at/bilder/sehenswert/reblaus.jpg] with wich we compete for a very [precious ressource|http://zacost.zamg.ac.at/phaeno_portal/typo3temp/pics/2cf4dd4771.jpg] to gain it's [processed product|http://www.weilo-wein.at/uploads/pics/img_Weinglas.jpg] which we Viennese are known to consume in larger amounts while being together with friends preferrably at places close to the habitats of the [Reblaus|http://nolatari.heim.at/bilder/sehenswert/reblaus.jpg] known as [Heurige|http://www.euxus.eu/wien/a800/58180107-heuriger-sirbu.jpg].
hope to meet some of you at a Heuriger in October.

I have only hunted Wolpertinger in lower Bavaria before. I was a member of the "Verein zur erhaltung der Bayerische Lebensart" and they organized a hunting trip for foreign members. I met lots of Japanese people as well.
I wounded one of the Wolpertinger with the duck feet and it swam accross to the Austrian side. I think it was just a "streifschuss".
So whether or not there are "standwild" Wolpertinger in Austria, and whether they have made it to Vienna, I am not sure.
Cheers,
Julius
To my knowledge someone here is mixing up traditions with wrong places. I don't know no Wolpertingers or related customs here in Vienna. I think they belong somwhere to Bavaria...

Be sure to share the pic of [Wolperdingers|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolpertinger] if you hunt one

I took the liberty of splitting your Vienna related post (with my quote) from the Bangalore cricket plans.
I dont think that even kernel debugging would have been able to help sort out that confusion, but perhaps it can set a break-point in the moon phases....
Cheers,
Julius
