Is this the official SAP statement on the topic?
I can understand somehow that account merging or splitting can be complicated, but changing logon data is something really basic - I can't think of any other website, where this is impossible.
For S-users I think, it is possible to change e-mail addresses in SAP One Support Launchpad. For sure - this makes sense only if the IT department changes the corporate e-mail address for some reason.
For P-users - I am not sure, there must be a way.
If I were in the OP's situation, I would still send an e-mail to webmaster@sap.com and ask for assistance. Even if this involves additional activities from SAP's side - people don't change e-mails for fun, usually there is a good reason why this is done - in some cases the person has no say in that (e.g. my previous mail provider was bought by another company and they changed all domains).
I laughed, I cried. The identity situation on SAP properties needs some real work.
