User mapping to other portals

During the earlier days of SDN, I had mapped my personal SDN user id to my company's s-user id. Later on, SAP might have realised the potential pit fall of this and removed this option. Now that I left that company, I want to remove the user mapping of my personal SDN id to s-userid of the my company. I could not do it.

I found the documentation relating to user mapping in the following address

</docs/DOC-18506#section11 [original link is broken]>.

The URL https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/usermapping pointed to by link user mapping is broken.

Mapping to other systems

This functionality allows you to map your SDN ID to other systems to bypass login screens when you link to their information from SDN links.

In SDN, mouse over Profile Management in the upper right-hand corner. Select the User Mapping option. You can maintain your mappings to these systems:

iViewStudio

Safari Bookshelf

SAP Marketplace (Service Marketplace)

When finished, don't forget to click on the Save button.

I would appreciate if you could help me remove my user mapping from my sdn id to s-user id of my company.

Hi Ravi,

Not to confuse the point, but the functionality that you think still exists, no longer does and hasn't for over 2 years. We did provide a limited facitity whereby you could enter your userid and password for other sites (the ones you quote from the old documentation you found) into a form on a page linked to the old short URL you found or bookmarked. You could then avoid logging on to the other sites mentioned if you found a link to them on one of our pages. However, this functionality was discontinued as I mentioned. There is nothing for us to remove.

What may confuse is the use of the term "mapping". In the sense it was used here, your SDN userid was "mapped" only because you had used the form to enter your other site's userid and password which was stored here.

You can speak to me further about this by writing to me at sapnetwork at sap.com.

Best Regards,

Thanks David,

This is exactly what I thought too. But this does not solve my problem. When people from my previous company log on to the SAP support portal using their s-user id and from there they navigate to SDn using the other portals link, they end up with SDN logged in using my personal user id. On 30th december, I saw a question posted from me, which I am not aware of. Then I realised that this user mapping is creating a problem.

When I created a link from my personal user id to a s-user id, I should be able to remove it also!

I want to know how to remove this link.

regards

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

This can only happen when you were using a "shared" S userid for the SAP Service Marketplace which was subsequently used to create a parallel account on our site. This used to be a common occurrence until companies and people started catching on to the fact that they could create as many S userids on the SAP Service Marketplace as they wanted to since the only tie in was the R/3 license key.

Since the S userid is still valid, and apparently you have the password to it even though you do not work for the company anymore, I would recommend the following.

First, log on to the SAP Service Marketplace with your S userid and change the password there. The same password is what allows you to access our site, so once this is done they will no longer be able to log in as you.

This is only a stop gap measure as sooner or later a person from your old company will simply write to the Service Marketplace support group and have the password changed so they can start using it again. Once they do this, you will no longer have access using that userid to either site.

Therefor, step two is to create your own userid on our site. If your present company has an S userid account that you can use then create a Customer/Partner account using it. Otherwise, create a Public userid. Once you have done this, send us the old and new userid in an email to the address sdn at sap.com. We can then transfer the forum posts and points from the old userid to the new userid.
