Hello,
Was there a change (recently or not) in the behaviour of 'Unanswered question' query on a tag? If I recall correctly, 'unanswered questions' query was filtering out all question for which there was no 'accepted' answer. What seems to happen now, though, is that the query shows questions for which no answer at all was provided; hence, filtering out the questions where some answers were given, but none of them was marked as 'accepted'.
Is it a designed change or a bug?
Thanks in advance,
Eli

Hi,
Nice catch! I am actually glad if it behaves now at least in a consistent way, because indeed this was not like this before. Earlier the "global tag queue" and "tag specific queues" behaved diffrently, see https://answers.sap.com/questions/32958/questions-with-zero-responses-second-round.html (wow, I posted this more than 2 years ago .. 🙂 )
I personally find it more important to list 0-response threads than to filter for accepted answers (though I guess the best would be of course to have a 3rd filter for that as well).
So I guess this was a bug finally corrected.
Cheers,
Ervin

Hi Ervin,
Though it is indeed useful to have a list of fully unanswered questions, I still find it more important to have a list of questions, for which no accepted answer was flagged. Those are still open questions by all means. Also, we should consider the fact that 'answer' option is frequently misused, providing rather a comment than a full-scale answer or a message style 'Any feedback?' by the question initiator.
Regards,
Eli
Hi Eli,
Sure, I completely agree, actually at least 3 filters would be needed as I also described in the previous threads.

Ervin
Sorry for the inconvenience, indeed we changed the behaviour to be more consistent. In the future we will have Answered tab and an Unanswered tab: Unanswered tab will display questions that have no answered and Answered tab will display to all questions with an answer accepted or not.
Some of you posted additional filters. Can you submit your request in our influence channel? https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/campaign/896

Hi,
Well, I requested this like 2 years ago and it was submitted, accepted, approved, etc. Actually even more than two years ago if I count that I raised this during SCN Beta for the first time 🙂 and I remember I mentioned even prior to that because though SCN Jive was able to list 0-response threads, it was unable to sort them.
It would be great to have a radiogroup filter, something like this :
o All Questions
o Answered Questions
o Accepted answers
o Unanswered questions
o No comments and answers
o Comments Only
The one I am after is the "No comments and answers" but I guess the above list contains all the filtering options others were requesting.
I try to create an idea for this later... again 🙂 Or is there an idea already available for this which I could comment on ?
You posted only the campaign link.
Thanks,
Ervin
Hi Claudia,
The issue was introduced in the influence channel platform, when SCN became SAP community. I suggested then, along with some other fellow members, to have more flexible filters. What happened though, that despite being highly endorsed by voting, this was not implemented. Additionally, the only existing filter which was working in a certain way, which in my opinion was more consistent than what we have now, has been redesigned.
Regards,
Eli
Hi All,
I have just created the idea here, please vote https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/217670
Thanks,

I am not using influence.sap.com due to inappropriate usage of personal info by this site. Sorry.
claudia.pacheco ,
I suspect the change was made to make the global Q&A methodology match that of the individual tags. There was originally a disconnect between the two where one showed only those which had Accepted Answers listed as Answered and the other listed questions as Answered with any Answer regardless of whether accepted or not. This was discussed long ago in one of the Jam Groups, but until now, nothing was done to change the situation.
Cheers, Mike (Appleby)
I voted for it... This filter idea was raised by many participants, including myself, back in 2016. Here it is:
There was no such change needed in this filter. It had an issue with closed answers but otherwise worked just fine: https://answers.sap.com/questions/52950/unanswered-questions-filter-does-not-filter-closed.html
Sorry but I feel this has just been made worse. Unanswered question is not the one with 0 answers. It's the one where no solution has been offered. If some tags had "0 answers" criteria then it was wrong and those tags should've been changed. Not the other way around.
In my question above you'll find a note from moshe.naveh2 that some kind of "expert" was supposed to evaluate the situation. What happened to that? Last year, there was a redesign prototype demoed to select users that had good filters, including "questions with 0 replies" (i.e. no answers or comments). Redesign was announced in a blog around January. What happened to that?
How many times do community members need to submit their feedback and post ideas? What happened to all the questions, ideas, and feedback already given?
I fully concur with Jelena. None of the ideas and discussions around filters didn't presume the 'solution' which is now implemented. There were talks to enhance the filters, make them dynamic, personal, etc. But, definitely not substituting the only working good filter with something which doesn't make too much sense. What this filter shows today is question without any feedback, which is completely different from a definition 'unanswered'.
Powered up my second browser with SID and voted. 🙂 (I also don't use Influence site with PID because it wants to know too much.)
This goes back to "questions with no replies" button that existed on SDN. It was not available anymore on SCN since 2012 and there was also an idea submitted for it. It had enough votes to be considered but nothing happened. This also didn't become available on the new platform in 2016.
And now, it seems, it was changed in a wrong direction.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Complete list of cases:
Question/answer:
- without answers
- with answers
Question closed/open:
- open
- closed

As a moderator, for me it is quite essential.
Can confirm. It was showing questions that did not have "best answer" accepted, regardless of the number of answers given.
Good thing you've noticed this and good thing I found this answer. Because I've been wondering where did all the questions go all of a sudden and why none of the questions have any answers ("unanswered" is my default filter). 😞
Thanks, Jelena. So, I was not dreaming either... I was equally surprised by a drastic decline in unanswered questions before I realized what was this all about. Now a question 'What is the way to proceed with cost allocation?' with an answer 'Jelllyfish' is considered as 'answered' 😮
