Unable to use "Ctrl + click" properly on a link in inbox overview page

Dear Team,

I think there is a bug in the inbox overview page section(View Mention or View Full Comment), where If I use "Ctrl + Laptop Touchpad click(assuming it will be same as mouse left click)" then the navigtion is directly going to the mention instead of opening in a New Tab.

The same is working if I open the notification(individually) and if I do "Ctrl + click", it's opening in a new tab.

I was facing this issue from some time, just ignoring it as I use mouse right click which works in both overview notifications page and individual page. But from home I don't use mouse and this thing just irritates me 😄 as I have to use right click and open the notification instead of simple "Ctrl + touchpad click".

It's not a big issue and I am also not sure if it is happening only with me ??? BTW I am using latest chrome version.
