TIBCO EAI or SAP PI

Hi ppl,

I have 3+ years of experience in SAP ABAP.

I am planning to explore some EAI technology.

I have shortlisted TIBCO EAI and SAP PI.

Could anybody please let me know the difference between these and their scopes.

TIBCO who?

If you look at customer distribution, SAP with PI has the majority lead by some 100%. Don' t waste time with technology that is only used by some dozen customers.

In a more serious way: If you are already in the SAP world, there is no need to go a different way.

TIBCO has some of its merits a high transaction backbone, in certain industries, but all EAI players are more boutique than mainstream these days. While not always the pinnacle of EAI-Technology, SAP by itself is a heavyweigt in setting standards and customers will adopt the leader. And if it comes to tight ERP-Integration, there is no alternative.
