Thousands of documents being updated...

I'm having trouble going through my activity feed this morning because hundreds if not thousands of documents have been updated in the past couple of hours by what looks like the original author which can't be right. What's going on?

I don't think this issue is included in the list of known issues. It seems to be some sort of report running changing a huge set of documents for some reason. I get a lot of notifications because I'm following which has authored a lot of documents but not all notifications are because of that.

It's not on the list.  It's not a bug but a result of an maintenance action taken about 1.5 hrs ago. The maintenance action is complete.

The coverpages (e.g. ) for the library content have been updated during some maintenance following the upgrade. There are several thousand of these coverpages and their being updated is causing new activities, this flooding the various feeds.

My communications inbox is full at the moment and I'm not very happy about it either.

Fortunately, the action is now done and there will not be any more activities from this process.

It would be nice if these kind of mass processing wouldn't cause notifications to begin with since the document, maybe even the cover page, wasn't really changed. I'm assuming only the metadata/properties of the documents were changed.

I agree. This should not have a happened.

You are right, the cover pages were changed. Doing a version comparison on a few documents it looks like a linefeed was added to all cover pages to allow enough space between the body and the "View Document" button.

Me too.  Anybody know why/how to shut it off?
