Testing Practices

Former Member

Hi,

I would like to hear about the testing practices you follow in your SAP projects.

a) What type of testing do you perform - manual / automated?

b) What are the top 1 or 2 (or more) challenges you face with respect to testing?

c) Can you quantify the efforts spent on testing (manual / automated) in a year?

d) Have you implemented TAO? If yes, what were they key benefits it brings beyond BPT?

Appreciate your responses.

Regards

C

Hello

a) 90% case are into manual and remaining 5-10% automation. But it varies based on scenarios. E.g. we are using HP Loadrunner for SAP Performance testing . SAP Portal & BI testing around 65% into automation

b) Getting right resources for SAP Functional modules testing particularly FI/CO modules. Functional consultants are hesitating to jump into testing jobs;Getting TDMS & TAO resources

c)Refer to answer a. but it varies from case to case. There is no thumb rule.

d) Implemented TDMS and TAO in practice levels (educating customers)

Cheers

Thanks Jawahar.

Could you please elaborate on the benefits of TAO that you perceived?

Also, why did you not go beyond educating users on TAO? Was it due to lack of resources?

I just write an DO-ENDO loop with no conditions and Call my object inside that loop to test it thoroughly..

By the way, did you realize that there are 2 IDs with same name..
