I think the thread was a great title, I've deleted the original, but let's continue and keep it ON TOPIC. To recap, having removed contention:

What do you like to do when you are not working? I like to read. I love reading non-fiction, and I must read at least one book a week. Currently, I am reading "The god delusion" by Richard Dawkins. It is one of the most interesting books I have read this year.

I've just been reading "Parallel Worlds", by Michio Kaku. During my spare time, in winter I ski, in summer I swim. In autumn I put on weight... I read a great deal - just finished Parallel worlds, and currently reading Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte), Les Miserables (Victor Hugo), and Skizz (Alan Moore/Jim Baikie graphic novel - a nostalgia trip for me). I also play guitar, write music, and get argumentative on internet forums!
I also do some trips to help out at orphanages in various countries.

Hi Eric - long time.

I believe in Nostradamus sometimes (he also told me something about this thread...) and spend some of my free time finding village idiots so that we know what we are in for when they come forward to close their threads, and of course try to prevent it.
Sometimes I also participate in Dirty Harry scenes with my Guest-o-Blaster, which is slightly better than Vlad Tepes, but still dirty work. You need to have a philosophy about it in my opinion.
E.g. I once guestified an innocent ABAPer for using CALL TRANSACTION, but he got over it and I consider him to be a friend now.
Other than that, I am a hobby farmer. I started with chickens (also see this blog if you are interested in SAP's solutions), then I added rabbits but I must confess that I find them a bit silly. Digging holes all the time, eating anything wooden, haven't seen any blogs about them; and keeping animals on a concrete floor is not a fair quality of life for them. One of the rabbits dug it's way into the chicken run actually and they got hold of him - have you seen the Hitchcock film "The Birds"?
Now I have horses since a few weeks. I grew up with them and the kids are also old enough now to learn taking responsibility for an animal which is a bit more entertaining than a hamster, but still equally important and not necessarily less demanding.
Unfortunately resources are scarce, even for kids, and the cats (Heidi and Sissi) feel a bit neglected now, but cats are fairly good at entertaining themselves.
Before I started working at all, and long before that (if school does not count) I had a nanny. Her name was Emma. She taught me that if you do not respect and take care of animals who are at your mercy, then you are not a good person.
Try that as a "breather" from your books? Personally I can recommend it.
Cheers,
Julius

Heretic!!!!
Where did I leave my matches?

Abhinav,
Please excuse us for a moment while we sort out a little domestic issue here...
@ Matt: After your comment in Re: Help help! The aliens are here!... the local farmers have built a wagon for you. It has a large Englishman built out of straw on it, with red hair and a cap (with pompom!). I don't think matches are needed, because they converted a "Güllewagen" into a flame-thrower and there are folks with burning torches standing around.
They are also burning copies of your blogs, however they probably have not read them in detail...
While on the topic of your blogs, the farmers here also have a sort of "peer review" concept. You can get away with mowing on a Sunday if it is going to rain from the following Wednesday onwards, but you need to check it first with the others for swaps and the common good of the region (not to be confused with "religion") and prices.
At the end of the day: life is like a box of chocolates, and Uwe is probably correct about it on the technical side as well as the chocolates
Cheers,
Julius

Playing carom billiards.
Solving cryptic crosswords.
Keeping an eye on the SCN netweaver security forum to see if I can help anyone.
Recently I started learning Greek as Greece is my favourite holiday destination, Corfu to be more precise.
Thanks for the kind words Vikranth. Have you checked out my VCD session - I've done the vocals for both videos in that as well - though the first was highly processed. The second one doesn't play through the VCD replay, but you can pick the link up to the youtube version from my blog.
I should add that when I'm not working I also take part in theatrical productions - primarily [panto|http://mjs-solutions.com/newpanto/history/why-are-they-talking/]. This year I shall be playing the role of the Mayor of Whoville in the panto version of ["The Grinch". |http://www.baselpanto.org/]
@ Jurjen Heeck - Solving cryptic crosswords.
Ever tried the Listener crossword in the Times. Reputedly the most difficult cryptic in the world. Often, I don't understand the instructions for solvling it. And did you manage to solve [this one|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/12576] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];?
