I have just seen this thread.

The response from Sandipan Das. So now instead of the usual 'Reward Point if helpful' message we are getting this.

Of frigging fantastic.

And yes I am annoyed.

Honestly folks what is the problem? Technically SDN is encouraging people to contribute and reward points so that if the magical point level is met then they make a contribution to the food program.

I looked at the message and it was more elegantly stated in his request than what I would have done jokingly. I much rather see the below than "please reward if useful".

Help children of U.N World Food Program by rewarding points and encourage others to answer your queries.

I won't post my more harsh alternative, as it would violate the rules of engagement and good taste.

Take care,

Stephen

It is a known fact in this forum that people post replies for points. Simple fact.

Now, instead of just saying 'Awards points....' it is now thought that is it acteptable to state the above.

The end result being the same, all the user wants is points. If they were doing it to raise money for these children, then donate money away from this forum.

Its as simple as that.

Enough. Let's hear more about what individuals ARE doing in the realms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability within their organizations and external to them. I'd like to see people connecting the dots between the requirements for governance, risk management and compliance with sustainable, humane, equitable, environmentally sane and business profitable behavior that maps to sustainable behavior. That is the REAL purpose of the UN Food for Points program: connecting education, bottom up change the world activity with supply chain, sustainable behaviors. If you are a SRM or SCM professional, this should be a topic to explore: professionally, technically, solution oriented.

Ridiculous to sidetrack this initiative into negative conversations around points abuse and derail the positive, important and yes, business-oriented imperatives to this sustainability challenge.

Give us all a break and let's put the enormous talent, intelligence and energy to be found here into good purpose for goodness sake. I can't believe the waste of time trying to argue the intentions.

Community members who are frustrated by unfair business practices, corrupt business activities, improper community conduct are of course welcomed to the conversation. Search for RESIST on the wiki and put your thoughts there. RESIST is a world-wide initiative that welcomes business conversation around business corruption. But childish superfluous chatter damages the good intent and education around the WFP and the "Change the World" challenge.

Please don't use point hunting as an excuse to destroy community-oriented positive consensus.

Good taste is something we should all be mindful of. Thanks for bringing that up in this context. When we get passionate about something we run the risk of crossing borders of appropriateness.
