Site Inconsistency

After returning to the space page repeatedly over the last few months to jump into sections of the beta, I finally bookmarked the various entry points of interest in IE.  Needless to say the page titles and icons shown in the image below leave me wanting for more of the 1DX promise.  Keep in mind that I even tweaked the default names for a few of the bookmarks, but my point of feedback is more about overall community experience and less about expecting everyone using the community network to do it like me.  SAP Relay is actually 'Messages', and I think Answers is duplicated in the browser page title...

For a few years now, my entry point for the community (of course when not clicking a link in Moderation emails or email notifications for specific pages that I watch very intentionally for updates and email notifications which is planned for post-launch) has been either a the space page or more often the famous document, which is now redirecting to a repurposed wiki page (sorry for the look - the focus on recreating it was more about the content links and less about aesthetics).  In my previous job focus on another topic, SAP MII, I used a similar tactic to get to the discussion forums and blog posts, but here it was the Content tab because it showed all activity for the topic.  Perhaps this can be addressed by the Tag page which I forgot to manually bookmark: http://go.sap.com/community/tag.html?id=73554900100700000977  ('All Community Content' would be the browser suggested title - no inclusion of the friendly tag name), but currently only seeing Blog and Question filters.

These days I spend quite a bit of time in the http://scn.sap.com/communications feed, simply to stay up to date on the beta chatter as the working day countdown to go live is in single digits.

So, my is really concerning the lack of consistency in the page titles, site header (not all headers fully match, with Moderation being the special one).  I have no idea what my community entry point for the 'SAP Fiori' topic will be after the launch, but the topic page is one idea to get the SSO kicked off, and then drill into the various content pieces of the blogs and discussion forums, or perhaps the new version of the communications feed.  I looked at my bookmark picture above thinking I missed this link, but then realized it the shortcut called 'Activity Stream'.  I know it is a personal preference and some members are more about blogs, some members are more about Q&A, etc. so I am curious to know where people plan to start their SCN sessions after the launch?  For those of you who only have 15 minutes or so to spare when jumping into the community before/after work, during lunch, or on your private time, this is a key decision and I haven't figured out mine yet...happy to hear your thoughts.

Best Regards,

Jeremy

Adding tag

I almost never click on show bookmarks button in my browser - just typing SCN in the URL bar leads me to my entry point bookmark, which I need - SCN Welcome page.

For the new site, I will have to bookmark at least six pages for tagged content, otherwise navigation is an un-delightful experience. I will probably start from content tagged with Sales and Distribution or from a random bookmarked tag. This means bookmarking also SAP relay, because Actions menu is not available on this page (surprise ). Still, staring at a loading icon on a page, early in the morning, before I have finished my coffee - I don't know... this is probably a bad choice.

Yes, for Relay a.k.a. messages.sap.com you'll need to use the "Send a Direct Message" option from your avatar submenu.

And the navigation menu is different:

https://answers.sap.com/

This is from the content by tag (http://go.sap.com/community/tag.html?id=209057551571413566377230676804921😞

I'm one of those that have their Activity Stream as the entry point. But the new stream is not so streamlined as I would like it, so maybe that's going to change. Time and more experience with the new platform in production mode will tell.

My browser link in my PCs  is going to the reputation tab, and after having wondered about the latest points I move on with clicking the communications icon

In my mobile devices I start with the moderation link, as I usually do not more than moderation from those devices.

with the new SCN the starting point for mobile devices will also be moderation.

With the PCs I will probably start with the Activity stream until it really confirms my fears to be useless with all the content displayed that  I am not interested in (e.g. your Fiori postings ) but cannot be avoided nor filtered since I am following you.  Plan B is to use individual links to certain tags

If unfollowing me helps clean up your activity stream from all the Fiori noise, then I am happy to take one for team Jürgen and give you my blessing.  Your legacy of more than 106k lifetime points and all the badges will forever be preserved in the new People profile (jrgen.lins#reputation).  104k, 106k, but who's counting.  It's not like there is a discrepancy in when you joined the community like

Similar to feedback I gave last week, I will probably start with blogs.sap.com as my entry point.  I agree we will miss the one space look a feel.
