SEM BCS Implemenation Architecture Approach

Hi,

Our company, which is a multinational corporation, is palnning to implement SEM-BCS and would like to know what other big companies have done to architect and implement SAP BCS.

Specifically, I would like to know whether we have to choose a separate instance to implement BCS and if this is the case, would you share with me the reasons for doing so.

I am in a similar situation where I am trying to help a client out in deciding the reasons for going for SEM-BCS. I know about SEM-BCS very well and have a few successful projects under my belt. But I don't know much about the competing products like Hyperion and now Outlooksoft BPC. I think in order to make a sound and informed judgement, we have to compare the pros and cons of all the options on the table to feel good about it. I am wondering if you could share your discovery phase if you will, and any presentations in the same vein as I just outlined. I shall be immensely grateful.
