There have been quite a few search, tag, or filtering discussions here in the open beta space, so I assume you've captured much of the early / from the other collection mechanisms, but I see some common areas for improvement, and have been chiming in on a few recent threads such as:
Are we looking to have search as a standalone tool, or will we also include an embedded filtering approach that mirrors the search capabilities (filtering/drill-down), to have more consistency within all the sites?
There will be something called "universal search" which is a site search extending across the whole experience: community sources, SAP.com, Help, and more. This is where users get to when they click on the magnifying glass in the header that persists across the various properties. This is how the "beta search" is setup and the filters available there must be applicable to all content there. (e.g. a filter for answered/unanswered threads only applies to a subset of all search results this won't be standard filter available for the universal search.)
Then you have pages where you can navigate content for a specific topic: All Content: ABAP Development Community. These have of a "embedded filtering approach that mirrors the search capabilities (filtering/drill-down)" you described.
