Dear experts,
After crossing almost a decade now with sap, today when i sit and conclude what is sap?.I find it hard to answer what sap is and the way it is organized in industry.Technical guys are the main creators of running workflows and system designs in our Z developments. What they lack is extrovertness and smartness. From where will the extrovertness come from ? , when days and night these guys remain focussed on their products development.Guys are atop of them, finally it is declared that a functional guy XYZ got this system developed.Technical guy has all senses exhausted because of his hardwork and would be in dilemma if i should fight for my right. He will opt to remain quite and see injustice. Why ?, because he has been badly befooled by now as complete credit are taken by smart people. But when a change is required, again it is declared a"catch an abaper ?" which looks an industry slang for a servant.
Even salary of an abaper or any technical is less than a functional person.Being in industry now for a decade ,cant see a reason for it.
All the more now talking the way sap is designed.Lots of new things coming up before even old things even come in span of day to day work? Example is sap hana. Why is it mandatory to put hana?.Even a high school guy knows data picked directly from memory would be faster. What is the big innovation in hana?.Are you going back to age of charles babbage ?
Also the things which could be made simple are intentionally made complex to gain more attention from technical world.Look at SAP XI,its a chaos.A simple java programmer who knows a multithread programming can meet requirement what XI does.Use of XML in sap XI was not at all required.
Overall i do not feel positive ,the ways sap is designed .Making upgrades to new version of sap pinches to a customer. Not only does he pay heavily from his funds but needs hard work from his team adjusting his old objects, revamping his old object.Apart from that another third class strategy is covering your mistakes by sap notes. To the world it is projected,o my god see sap note has this solution.Even it is customer duty to correct your codes ?.I fail to understand till now why any superior technology is not in place.
What was the middle part?
