Hi
Recently I got job as SAP Consultant. They mentioned my designation as trainee and after 6 months they will promote me as Software Engineer.
When my room mate saw this offer letter, he laughs and says how an sap consultant can be a software engineer?
A technical consultant can be called as software engineer as they are using abap languare but how a functional consultant can be a software engineer?
Is sap consultants are software engineers?
Request clarification before answering.
Nothing wrong in having designation as SE for SAP functional consultant..
Good Example is Siemens, they have same process also Accenture.

I would be sort of cautious about this job. I know that, generally, you need your software engineering degree to get [software engineer jobs|http://www.glassdoor.com/Job/software-engineer-jobs-SRCH_KO0,17.htm]. I have never heard of someone getting a job without a BE degree.

In some Countries, the job title "Engineer" is reserved to persons who have an Engineering Degree from a recognised University and who have also paid their annual Membership Fee in the Engineers "Association".
Yet, in some other places, janitors are called Sanitation Engineers.
The Job Title is not always a reflection of the employee's qualifications or job description.
