Hi 1DX team
Not sure if this is something that is not implemented yet or will not be. From testing in the following question, it looks like syntax highlighting is only available on "Answer" responses and not "Comments" (to the question or to answers in the question).
How can I format code snippets properly in a blog post? - SAP Answers
As discussions can get quite technical, it could lead to clarifications to submitted "Answers" in the form of comments to the answers, and these "comments" may possibly involve code too (i.e. modifications to the code submitted in the original answer). It make sense that such code in the comments part should have syntax highlighting too - after all, the editor for the comment do provide a "Code" button.

Hi Eng swee,
Thank you very much for your suggestion.
We agree that this idea will improve the community experience in answers.com. This recommendation was set for for feasibility evaluation by our IT although we can't commit if/when it will be implemented. I don't expect it to be there for go live.

Moshe
Hi Moshe
Thanks for your update.
First of all, I want to say that the 1DX & SCN teams continued effort for the new platform is much appreciated. In light of that, I hope my following comments will be viewed constructively.
I remember reading somewhere that the guiding principle is that the new community won't go live until it is deemed suitable and gets buy-in from the user community (my own paraphrase). However, I've noticed a trend that many features requested and feedback provided by the community are somewhat put into a "won't be available at go live" bucket. While I'm sure some of these are no showstopper, these are feedback that we as users feel would add value and give a more coherent experience for the new community.
As it is, many already feel the lack of coherency between the many different aspects of the new community - at best it's being called fragmented. I myself is really struggling to imagine what to expect when the system finally goes live.
Regards
Eng Swee
