hi all,
We know that on every forum we have sticky threads about the rules of posting and FAQs but ppl dont bother to read them,
so cant we have something like making the subject bold or change the font color of the subject or the background color so as to grab the attention, if u think from mindset of a fresher he would be coming to the forum for the first time, unaware of most of the things so he would directly post his post.
because what mostly happens is that a fresher is guided to sdn by his collegues or seniors who tell them that if u have any problem u have sdn where u can post questions and u get answers so thats what he does.
So if we have something that grabs his attention an he reads and understands about the rules 50% of the noice would be reduced.
regards
Kartik

Hi
I disagree with the idea just because people who really like to read rules, will definitely be able to see them. There is no special colouring needed other than keeping them sticky.
And, the main thing is once you click on Forums...then the first thing everyone finds is "Announcements", under that "Strict Moderation Policy", under that underlined is rules if engagement .
So, people who dont even read headings, will they read sub-headings??.
One thing I have noticed is Majority of People learn through experience than Knowledge. So, the experience of getting their thread locked will remain in their mind more than the list of rules which prevent from such thing happening in the first place.
Vishwa.
