Hi,
Recently 100% of my reply's with my own words only. Even if added a link then i will give basic steps in briefly also.
Forum: SAP NetWeaver Business warehouse.
http://scn.sap.com/message/14550669
As i remember for this thread i gave 4 to 5 replys with my own words only. finally owner asked about software installation procedure. for that i suggested him to post your query at software-support-and-maintenance
Even that link which i gave is not the answer in that cases on what basis moderator can do take action by removing points(which i got 15 points for my own reply not for the link). if possible to see thread form your end, please you can check and let me know.
Hiding threads:
Even though some new scn experts will post available discussion thread, not sure whether that discussion will satisfy the thread owner problem or not. Even though moderator was hiding whole thread when he receives report abused on reply(which was just pasted the link).
Ex: this is thread http://scn.sap.com/message/14547037 no answer still for this issue, but due to report abused(pasting simple link) moderator was hidden.
Rather than hiding the reply why moderator hiding while thread which was not yet been got the solution.
Thanks

I'm getting a bit weary of having to defend my actions. You had a post rejected - why is that such a big deal? Why do people take it so personally? I've been on line for 20 years, I've had tons of content rejected. My words are not so important that if they don't make it to the general public it will cause a disaster. Do you think yours are?
All that happens with a rejection is that a decision is taken by a moderator for the good of the community. Try to think globally rather than just personally.
But in the interests of transparency:
1) I reject any post where there is just a link, unless I spot that it was reasonable. In this instance, it was reasonable to direct the member to another place, but I didn't spot it. Oh dear. How sad. Never mind. (As Windsor Davies used to say).
2) Both threads referenced were rejected as a whole. This will result in the loss of points for anyone who responded. The reason the threads were rejected is given to the person who posted them. Not to the responders. In my judgement they were both basic question and were easily answered by a little research. They were not rejected because of single link answers.
In the interests of education, try my comment here http://scn.sap.com/community/support/blog/2013/11/08/posting-links-and-the-jungle-you-end-up-in#comm... where I explain the rationale behind rejecting links.

Hi Mathew,
Am not taking anything into personally. Just to know exact reason. once we know the exact reason then it good for us not to repeat it.
Actually the reason which mentioned as Don't post just links. so i thought as it is rejected because shared link.
As per your reply, post was rejected because of its basic question. then that's fine. that sounds good.
Request: While rejecting thread please mention the proper reason.
Thank You
Raman.
I'm glad you're not taking it personally. The thing is that this question keeps coming up...
I do not understand your request since I did mention the proper reason, and give an exact explanation. In your case "Don't post a link". You won't see the reason for the thread as whole being rejected as you were not the author.
What more would you want?
Bear in mind I deal personally with 30-50 posts a day. I'm not going to write an essay for each one.
See the reason. Its clearly said that "Don't post just links". It means you can't post just link in any discussion. You have to wrote something and you can refer the discussion.
