Rejoining rules regarding EPF

A person worked in a pvt. school for 4 years...left it in sep 18 and allowed to rejoin in April 19.....now school is showing new joining and alloting a new EPF number...will it affect the future benefits regarding EPF and Gratuity.....Is there any rule in EPF that after discontinuity for a month or more the new EPF number is alloted.
