redirect from one profile to another?

I have an andreaborgia linked to my company S-user and a c5e08e0478aa4727abc4482f5be390b2 linked to my P-user, which I use extensively in the forums. Just today I've been tagged twice to the wrong profile, that is not the one used to post the comment / answer.

For the moment, I still get notifications for the older profile but this isn't going to last forever.

The profiles are already linked but... is there a way to set a redirect from one to the other?

Should I simply close the older account and be done with it?

There's no redirect possible.

• What you could do is change your name in the old profile to reflect this is an old / no longer used profile.This should minimize the amount of times the wrong profile is mentioned, as during mentioning they'd see something like Andrea Old Account (or whatever you will enter there).
• Another option would be removing consent from the old account: (Privacy -> Make my profile public - toggle to OFF). However in this case the content of the old account would be anonymized, and to do that without affecting your linked current profile, you'd need to actually unlink the profiles.
• You could also link both users to a Universal ID account, and the unlink the old user from the Profile Linking page. And then remove consent from the old account.

I'll try that.... at the moment the profiles are linked and belong to the same Universal ID.

EDIT: done, but it won't let me change the name / surname and the display name is linked to both. Not sure how effective it will be, please have a look

Hi, Andrea,

Since you have the 2 accounts linked in Profile as well as in UID, then I suggest to try my second point.

Of course keep the credentials of the old user available to you in case you need to link the accounts in Profile again in the future, but otherwise you could hide the old account as I suggested.

Also in the near future Community will offer a way to consolidate accounts, so this way you'll be able to actually merge them together.

unlinked the profiles, set the older one to private, verified that it no longer comes up for tagging.

until such time as profile merging is implemented, as far as I'm concerned, this issue is solved, thanks 🙂

Although I don't have a simple solution to your challenge, you may add this request as a comment to the improvement proposal SAP Influence: Consolidate badges, reputation points when linking profiles

Hopefully SAP will implement that.
