American Economy is in recession. It is a cyclic phenomenon.
In the past the dot(.)com burst had severe effect on the IT industry. And it is in the recent years only that IT has picked up.
The US recession is definitely going to affect the IT Industry.
Signs have already been visible India with Major software houses like TCS laying off few hundred people in the name of lack of their competency. This is in anticipation less expected projects abroad.
How are we IT professionals going to compat the situation?

Do you really think that Julius?
I always think the UN is just trying to scare people with their projections about famine. But then I see how bad things are going with oil and that raising crops for ethanol might hurt us more than the supposed benefits. And also the rise in food prices
I think we'll have to wait to see if things really go that bad, I just wish to be in a safe place if hell breaks through

To say that I believe it, would be saying too much...

At the time, in that frame of mind, small scale mango farming on a remote island seemed like an attractive option...
I agree: Lets keep this thread open, and see what happens...

If no other recourse, get on the 'hope' bandwagon. You can always hope of better times with a newly minted president come november.

lol, that was funny.
I'm new to the working environment so I hope to still have a future even if I lose my job in the following months.
I read a few hours ago how an economist was expecting social unrest in case the recession hits my country hard, so I guess my job would be the last thing to worry about.
I've been saving a lot, my mom actually thinks I dont spend how a young man should (cars, girls, clothes), but I actually worry for the familiar economy in case something big happens in the future
