Universal Profile
I saw that the changes Oliver talked about are already in place, and I know that the important part is to get the whole thing to work and to bring in more features after Go-Live, still I have a few questions.
I see that you guys are playing a lot with comic avatars which are not really wanted in SCN, there were some discussions in the moderator space. For sure it is a playground, but I see that we can only have one picture at all, while we can have 4 plus 1 avatar in Jive. Will this 1 be a limitation or is there any thought about allowing more pictures similar to Jive?
There is also just 1 email address, so it is not possible to segregate emails from SCN (moderator alerts) from emails from SAP Support or Newletters.
This may violate our companies email policies. Will there be an option to have a second email address for SCN?
There were also shown my language skills. It was said that you think about filtering content based on that. If I think about moderator activities and spam fighting, how would I be able to fight Korean language spam if I do not even see those spam because of language filters. Can this feature be activated/deactivated individually by myself?

Michael showed that the best answer is moved to the first place. This gives me some goose skin as I fear that it is then pulled out of context. I pretty often see discussions that develop and having 10 to 30 replies finally. They may finally had a few different question addressed and if only the last answer is marked as accepted then it looks like the answer is not at all related to the initial question and if it is moved to the top of all answers then we may not even see anymore the right sequence and becomes hard to imagine the real flow of interaction.
Is there an option to see the answers still in time sequence?
It was shown that a question cannot be posted because of a word filter black list / white list. But is it really good practice to show a potential Spammer which words are inappropriate? So they immediately start to use this word separating the characters by spaces or dashes and get their spam through. I know there were some discussions in SCN about the *** masking of bad words and also why discussions went into pre-moderation, but I still think it is better than spreading the filtered words.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Juergen,
I can address some of the profile questions and will then need to address the remainder.
Re photo/avatar: yes you do see us playing around in the QA profiles. When we move to the beta, however, we will upload real photos, as is the guideline for community. The beta profiles will also become our live profiles for launch, so it's important to start them with the right kind of photos.
1 photo is currently the limitation for beta and launch, but we are looking at adding capability for more later.
The email issue you mention is an interesting one I had not previously heard about (need to segregate community emails from other SAP emails). I will let Oliver comment on that one.
The linking (or not) of the "languages I speak" in the profile to filtering of content is still a work in progress. It's not something that I believe will be there for launch, although Oliver, , and Melinda Ludanyi may have more to say about that.

Audrey

HI Audrey
In relation to migration, will users all need to load their photo in new profile? If not, which photo will be taken from SCN in the migration?
I have to choose between professional looking photo (after quite a few wines) versus fish lady. Tough decision whilst only one photo is the limitation
Regards
Colleen
Hi Colleen,
Migration of photos is on the list, but is not looking like it will make it in time for beta, and it won't make sense at a later point.
So one of the things our team will need to let community members know before we open beta up to them is that they may want to grab the photos they have uploaded into Jive if they don't still have the files somewhere on their computers.
There's no stopping you from uploading one of the two to start with and swapping out when you feel like showing the other one. 🙂
