Q&A - Answer doubled after wink-out

This doesn't happen often, but has happened to me twice now:

  • Write part of an answer
  • Do something else (not sure about how long it must take for this issue to occur)
  • Write the rest of the answer, and submit it
  • You get thrown back to the main Q&A list
  • Go back to that same question
  • Write your answer again, because the system does not offer you the use-draft question
  • Submit your answer
  • The question page comes back, but your answer is now a combination of the previous answer and the newer one, with a comma added in between (see screenshot).

Hi All,

Our IT department weren't able to reproduce this bug. Can you please confirm it was resolved/didn't happen since you last reported it?

Regards,

Moshe

Testing Is this still happening to you? How much time passed? What browser were you using? It didn't happen to me. Thank you,

Moshe

Hi Moshe,

To be clear, this happens intermittendly.

It happened to me just yesterday. and I can only guess that my Chrome version has not changed since then.

Johan

The problem recurs and I believe, it's linked to the timing of question being edited at the moment an answer is submitted

I've encountered the same issue

This just happened to me earlier today, although I don't think any timeout was involved. I think I hit some shortcut key on my keyboard by accident, which closed out the input box I was writing into. I refreshed the page, hoping it would bring it back with my already written text saved, but it didn't, so I started over. When I hit "submit" I saw the previous text and new text combined into a single answer.

Happened to Caetano as well today, you can see the repeated slightly different answer combined with the original: https://answers.sap.com/questions/92521/no-of-session-in-parallel-processing.html?childToView=92850#...
