Predefaulting tags in SCN Beta for blogs, Q&A and searches

Hi,

It is quite difficult and time-consuming to select the right tags from the tag picker when writing a blog or a q&a. Actually, I am only dealing with one product SAP Customer Relationship Management and still I have to select out of the long list of products everytime. I assume that that might be true for other community members as well, maybe others might be interested in a limited number of products instead of only focusing to one.

What would help here,

• is an option to tell you my favorite products and my default product (if existing) in my user profile.
• If you know my default product
  • and I write an blog or Q&A, this product should be automatically prefilled as tag
  • and I search, this product should be automatically used as filter for search
  • still it should be possible to easily remove the default value and use different tags
  • and easily navigate to my user profile to specify additional products
• If you know my favorite products
  • The tag picker should only contain those products which are in my list
  • There should be also an easy option to switch to all products and navigate to the user profile to add more products

Allowing me to specify this information in my user profile would allow you to provide more relevant and personalized information for me.

Is anything like that planned? @SCN beta community: would that be helpful for you as well?

To my knowledge, nothing is planned like this prior to go live. I think this is a great suggestion. I will add it to the feedback list.

I just starting with the Beta and blog and the tags. It is quite difficult and time-consuming to select the right tags from the tag picker. For example what tag do you use in your blog as your first review of the SCN beta ?

Hi Sigrid,

Indeed a history of recently used tags or any of the above recommendations would definitely provide a better user experience, especially that dealing with tags happens every single time we write a blog or raise a question, so frequently recurring actions should be simple, easy and quick.
