Hi All,
I have successfully installed the Precalc server on my own PC for testing purposes (Windows XP 32 bit)
However we want to move it off my PC and onto a Server environment.
Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
X64bit
I have installed: xPrecalServer07_0-20006596
Installed successfully no errors.
However in Services.msc SAP BW Precalculation Service Multi Instance will not start, it gives error:
The SAP BW Precalculation Service Multi Instance service on local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
running the SAP FRONT END VERSION app below is output:
SAP GUI for the Windows Environment
Release: 7.20
Complitation: 2
Patchlevel: 6
SAP Business Warehouse Front-End
Release: 7.0A
Patchlevel: 11
SAP Front-End Setup
Patchlevel: 0
Any help in getting this resolved would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Derek

Hi Maxim,
Sure no problem.
Infact there was nothing wrong to begin with. I had forgotten that in order for the Pre - Calc Multi instance service to start it needed a Pre - Calc server to have been created using transaction: /nrsprecadmin
Once the Server was created I could start the Multi instance of the sap precalc service no problem.
And then going back into transaction /nrsprecadmin click refresh you should see your precalc server change to green light status ready.
One other thing that might be of help to you is that when the work books were configured to run they were showing up blank no data in them.
I cant remember exactly but it was giving an error when the service was started.
The way around this is to not start the service on the server via SERVICES.MSC but to go to program files(x86) /SAP/Business Exploerer/ BI_Precalc and run BExPrecConsoleDispatcher.
Once this started and we configured the workbook to run again it sent successfully with Data this time.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Derek
