post flooding maximum 6 messages per hour?

Hello,

I just obtained this weird error message after posting few comments today (for the same reason, I also had to wait for posting this question :-p).

Correct the highlighted errors and try again.

  • Post flooding detected (user tried to post more than 6 messages within 3,600 seconds)

Is it really expected to have this very low limit of 6 messages per hour?

If a user is looking at all the questions once a day, this limit may be quickly reached.

Is it possible to remove this limit for experienced posters? (I know my own user has privileges like accepting a solution for someone else question, so it would be easy to permit all these privileged users to post more than 6 messages).

Thank you.

Sandra

EDIT: also, there's a maximum of 2 messages per minute:

  • Post flooding detected (user tried to post more than 2 messages within 60 seconds)

Hi, Sandra:

I don't think there's a way we can apply the privileges easily based on rank -- it would have to be something that applies to all, which could end up creating more problems than it solves. Still, we'll continue to monitor to see if other members find this limit to be unreasonable, then we can revisit depending on member feedback.

Kind regards,

Unfortunately now even the information how many posts can be sent in a specific timeframe was removed. Thanks to Twitter I was able to find this post. Hope that this can be improved..
