Currently the page title of SCN profiles is set to "<Given Name> <Family Name>'s Profile | SCN". Could you please change it to "Profile of <Given Name> <Family Name> | SCN". Reasoning: improving SEO.

Hi Samuli,

would be the person to pull in here. Maybe you can add some more details on why you think this would improve SEO.

Best,

I shared the discussion to Jason, he will probably comment once he gets back from his vacation. Based on what I have seen in search results it seems that search engines rank exact matches before partial matches. I don't think search engines consider the 's format, I might be wrong though since algorithms aren't publicly available.

In terms of SEO, the best practice is to start the title or any text with the most unique information in the string of text and avoid anything repetitive, i.e. the name. So it's pretty much as optimized as it could be at the moment.

If anything, the fact that every space overview page title begins with "Space: " is something I hope will be fixed soon.

Would you consider "<Given Name> <Family Name> | SCN" a la LinkedIn? Or do you think the "'s" at the end of the name doesn't have any impact on the search result?

I don't think it has an impact because the name appears again on the page.  It's also beneficial to mention that the page is a profile in the title.

What would really benefit SEO for these and other pages would be the use of markup data tags a la schema.org: this is a set of standards used by search engines to tag key pieces if information in a consistent way.

By the way, have you seen this?
