OSS Connection Over VPN

Hello Experts,

We have installed new R/3 system and configuring OSS for this system.

Before moving ahead i need your advice on following queries :

1. If we configure SAPROUTER on same R/3 Server will it create any

problem. I mean considering security or performance etc.

2. The R/3 will be connected to OSS through VPN where only one Public IP (by ISP) is there

and this R/3 server will have unique static enternal IP.

3. SAPSERVER has two LAN CARDS and one will be used for R/3 and one for SAPROUTER

4. The PUBLIC IP (Received by our ISP) will be registered with SAP for OSS.

I would like to have your suggestions on this so that we will move on right track.

Hi,

Saprouter should ideally be placed in the DMZ segment.

For small setups, saprouter is sometimes installed on the Solution Manager host.

For a VPN connection, you need 2 public IP's:

One for the VPN switch & the other would be the public IP of your SAProuter host.
