Number of followers is Incorrect

Hi Moshe,

While going thru the number of Followers; in SCN Beta, I found that the count of the number of followers is not coming correctly.

In my scenario, Its actually coming more than the number of followers that I currently have,

Did some analysis, and found the below.

Number of Followers (in SCN Beta) = number of followers (in Current SCN)+ Number of following (in Current SCN)

Can you check this .

Thanks a lot for your feedback. This is a known issue and actually captures the correct the number of followers you had a couple of weeks/months ago when we created the people's database. This will be updated later on but thanks for the input.

Moshe, see the formula he has given for the followers, I think he is correct, even the data was loaded months ago.

He has in his current SCN profile

• Following: 3
• Followers: 126

and in Beta he has

• amlan.banerjee#network:follower

Hi Jurgen,

In your case we have a delta of 65 followers which can be the number of people who started following since we created the database. In Amlan's case we have a delta of 3 in the number of followers which makes sense.

I'm sure that Oliver and his team will make sure that the numbers match.

I would look into if you would say that the numbers don't change if you start following people.

it is the other way around, this would mean that I had lost 65 followers in current SCN since it was copied to Beta. Actually even more as I could count about 150 email notifications for new followers since end of March.

Please mind that the order is switched (followers and following)

[Beta Followers] 2215- 2170 [ SCN followers]= +45 added in Beta

but 2170 is today in SCN, and the copy to Beta was from March, where I only had about 2020 followers in SCN, which would mean 195 added in Beta (unbelievable)

I checked about 20 of my contacts and in most cases the numbers in Beta are correct.

There was only one who is following 40 more people in Beta than in SCN, but he had not yet done anything in Beta yet.

So either he cleaned up the people he followed in current SCN, or there are other logics applied

for this numbers.

What about banned users, are they migrated or excluded?

I found a couple more with questionable numbers, the biggest difference I saw with

He has the discrapency of 479 in the people he is following. Cant really believe that he added that much people as connection

There is some sort of issue with the whole follower/following list that I reported a while back.

Somehow, the comment in is that the issue is with the export out of Jive.

Might be worth doing a sample export out of Jive and compare the data with the actual/current SCN list, to try and identify the source of the discrepancies.
