New Trend - an answer to a topic is a link only

Hi there,

i do not know, if it is similar in the other snd forums. We have a new trend in B1. A lot of answers to questions are links to other threads, even if they do not fit the topic or question.

It seems, that some people think, that they have to answer something than nothing. It is really difficult to answer in own words ?

Thanks Steffen

I think it is fair to expect that someone will have done a search for themselves before asking a question and already have read help.sap.com docs and easily googlable information in links.

So doing the same as an answer is not required --> consequently "link-farming" is not encouraged and often the posts are rejected - particularly if that is all the person is capable of doing.

Cheers,

Julius

ps: There is nothing new about this...

Hi Matt, Hi Julius,

means your comment, that posting only links - especially to other sdn topics - is not welcome and moderators close it ?

Yes, infact even in ABAP forums people used to post link farms, now it reduced a bit.

When the answer is a single link, it means the responder is a lazy point hunter, and/or the original poster is lazy and shoud have searched.

If I find someone doing this, I try to stop them. But it is SO prevelant and I've not the time to read every post and every response.
