Name on the TOP Contributor Badge

Dear All,

Last month I am received rather I can say awarded by SDN as TOP Contributor 2008. And received a Badge in accordance to the same.

I am feeling very nice and proud for the same. But I have a spark in my thought while I was demonstrating it to one of my colleague, that the NAME of the contributor should be incorporated on the Badge.

That is to.........

Avoid the misuse of the Badge, if some one else place it as he/she received this honor, in place of the actual contributor.

It is just a idea came in to my thought pls share your comments and the way how should I post my requirement for the same to SDN.

Hy Shymal,

I also have the same Idea, as I have also received the TOP Contributor Badge just couple of Weeks back.It has enhance my confidence and encourage more to contribute to this forum.

I also think there should be name of Contributor is printed or embossed over that Badge.If it is not possible then Certificate or Later of contribution will also provides the strong proof for the Contributor's Contribution.

We decided against certificates because of their potential misuse and being presented as some certificate of knowledge earned and as your points in the company are related to multiple different topics it would be impossible to verify specifically which area you are an active contributor of therefore NO certificates will be made.

As for your name embossed, that will also not happen.

may I know why the Idea is refused without any justification/reason/back up words?

See I have raised this question because the SDN is the only forum media where the contribution is a matter of respect and dignity. And to protect it's rewarding and awarding from any sort of Piracy should be there and will be defiantly a value adding activity to the dignity the SDN furnished to the TOP contributors.

Because as we know the TOP contributor is not recommended and then awarded if there are only a bunch of points are there in their accounts, but their profiles are reviewed deeply and then the contributor becomes eligible for the BADGE. So how bad it would be if such an honor is represented by some other fallow. I am worried about the this imaginary possibility because the BADGE can be easily showcased by the pretender in place of the comforter.

I hope you understand.

But anyways the awarding are really a delight full matter hence worried about it. And I think that is the normal human tendency.

Because the badge goes to everyone once they reach 250 points (once a year - we made the announcments when we implemented the "Points for Food" program).

The real honor of being a "Top Contributor" happens like this:

Hello Sir,

We also understand what you want to say regarding Certificate or embossed name , but I think there is some miss understanding regarding our intention.

What I feel is, Best Part of this forum is not a Point or That Badge but It is Peoples(Poster ) reaction after they have received some useful tips or Solution provided by the Contributors and that is the Best Honor .

Bunch of thanks to you for providing such crystal clear understanding about the TOP Contributor. I have gone through the blog and made it clear. It will be great help if you can elaborate more on the eligibility criteria to have ourselves in that list!!!!

Dhaval had triggered a good topic by introducing the CERTIFICATE in this thread. The clarification Craig had given about the CERTIFICATE had demolished my whimsicality, which I had read somewhere in at SDN itself that "_We may be nominated as SAP Certified when cross 6000forum points at SDN_".

Thanks a lot. I am not closing the thread to expecting some more comments on it.

There is NO such process about certifying someone based on points.

As for making it onto the "list", you need to earn the position through strong contribution of good quality content for your specific topic area and distinguish yourself as a thought leader for your topic area.
