Hello,
Could someone please let me know why my thread was rejected by the moderator? I have reviewed the SAP CN Forum Rules of Engagement. I does not appear that I have mistakenly violated any of the forum rules. I politely asked a development question, received an answer, awarded points, and rephrased my question for clarification (since the first answer that I received did not exactly address my question). Next, I received a very help answer. Then, I received an email stating that my thread had been removed.
I did not ask more than one question.
Please let me now what I did wrong. I would like to continue to use the forum without causing any further problems.
Thank you,

Re: Call by Value -vs- Call by Reference -- Which is more secure?

Thank you. I was referring to data object security (since changes in a variable within a subroutine do not affect the main data object). I was hoping that someone could elaborate on data object security with regards to call by value/call by reference parameter passing.
Thanks again,
jv
Request clarification before answering.
Your original post in ABAP General was:
Subroutine Parameter Passing
Comparing *Call by Reference* to *Call by Value*:
Which is more secure?
Thank you,
jvWe received one or two abuse reports for your post, after quick review I decided to reject it, because it sounded like an interview-type question that can be self-answered after some due amount of research. Also "which is more secure" is quite vague, secure in which respect?
The replies you received so far sounded more or less like copy/pasted texts from SAP online help or similar sources, again something you could find yourself.
In order to avoid such inconvenience in the future, please make sure you always search for available information before posting, and provide as much detailed information as possible when posting, also about the context in which you are asking.

I'm sorry if I offended the one or two people who decided to "report abuse" to my first forum post. I respect your decision as a moderator. That being said, I have a problem. I still do not have an answer to my question.
So would it be accurate to say that these forums are for "last resort" use only? If so, please know that I did my research before posting. I did know part of the answer to my own question (I understand why Call by Value/Result is more secure, with respect to the data object). But I was hoping that someone could elaborate on the topic a bit further. I was directed to this forum for a reason. It was supposed to be a wonder source of information provided by a community of professionals. I was trying to see if anyone (professionals) knew of any other reasons why Call by Value/Result is considered more secure. I made that clear in the "question clarification" post below. But now I will never know.
I would like to request that my post be returned to the forum. If this is not possible, may I re-post the question (maybe in a different way)? I am not interest in getting a re-post deleted again and then getting my account deleted. Please let me know how I can take care of this properly.
Thanks again for your time,

If you write your next initial question like your last post here, then there should not be a problem. You know, we cannot read minds, so make sure to include all relevant information in your thread starter, as I said above. Good questions will also scare away the point-hunting copy/pasters, that you attracted with your first attempt.
Please also understand that SCN is often used as a "wonder source" for people who are trying to outsource their own work to the community (whether motivated by themselves or by bad management), so also make sure to distinguish yourself from this group.
