Little green plus (+) on the activity symbol

I think I clicked on "something" in http://scn.sap.com/activity and now I get a green plus ( "+" ) on the Activity-Symbol (top right part of screen) every 5 minutes or so.

-> what did I do and how can I change it back?

You are following a space, a person  and some content.

And whenever there is new content in one of those spaces, or created by one of the persons you are following or a reply/comment to the followed content, then you will see this little + in the green circle next to activities.

You can't turn that off except you un-follow the spaces, persons and content

Thanks Juergen, but I'm not yet confident that this is the full explanation in my case: I haven’t changed anything in regards to following recently (I have been follow [things] for quite some time, I think I also get some E-Mail-updates because of that), but I never experienced that + until this afternoon. (I would have notice because it's really distracting to me).

Is it possible that this "feature" is only activated when you Click on "Activity" for the first time or something along that line?

I have this + since the very beginning of the current platform (and will probably miss it desperately soon), I am not aware that this gets activate only after having clicked this icon once, but I can test it in the next hour when I am at home.

Test done, and it is like you thought, it gets activated only after you clicked it once. I can't remember having seen this screen 4 years ago.
