Although or even cause it's brand new I'm curious if there is an API available for the new community? This would allow us to write nice little bots to integrate the community into other platforms

The new SAP Community has been build from the ground up with an API first approach. All applications and microservices expose REST APIs which are used for the technical integration on platform level.
That being said, the APIs are not ready for public consumption (yet). There is still quite some effort necessary to unify authentication (via oauth), URL pattern and parameters, etc. Although the long term plan is to make the API available to the community, we first need to get the basic user experience right.
We will definitely put some effort into API harmonisation in 2017, but probably won't be ready to release the APIs next year already (gut feeling).

Those features should be submitted into Ideas Place (sorry, i cannot retrieve the link right now!) 🙂

Simone, thanks for your suggestion but before I create an idea I think I should work out if it already has been implemented. Hence I asked this question.
When I go to the Ideas Place I can see a lot of submitted ideas and I can submit an idea for the idea place itself but I cannot submit an idea to "SCN Innovation and Enhancements" idea place. There is no "Submit idea" button / link.
I don't have the time to figure out how I get write access to the SCN idea place. So I will stay here and ask questions.
Hello Simone and Helmut,
the url for the Idea place of the new SCN is https://ideas.sap.com/sapcommunity. Just in case you'll need it. 😉
Regards,
Steffi.
Great idea, supported.
