May I please get the community's thoughts on the current notifications feed functionality/bugs and whether the request below would help improve the user experience? (Please ignore if this has already been discussed or planned for future releases.)
1) Upon logging into the SAP Community page, the notifications feed is my usual go-to place to catch up on the latest blogs and questions/discussions in my subscribed tags. In this case, I see 8 unread notifications.
After opening the notification feed, I saw that the unread notifications were highlighted with a blue banner. I was able to open only 3 out of the 8 unread notifications, intending to return later to the remaining ones.
The old notifications do not have a blue colour indicator, as they are considered read.
Based on the number of notifications in the feed, it is practically impossible to catch up with all unread notifications at once (here 8 notifications). It would be helpful if only opened notifications were marked as read, ensuring that unread ones remain highlighted for future reference and adding an option to mark all of them as read.
However, when I refresh or reload the page, all 8 notifications are marked as read, even though I did not open 5 of them, so it is difficult to continue where I left off.
2) Additionally, when there are a large number of notifications, the feed fails to paginate properly and gets stuck on the progress indicator, preventing access to older notifications. A smoother pagination experience would significantly enhance usability, especially for users catching up on the content after a few days.
3) Currently, there are no filtering options to sort notifications by category, such as Read/Unread, Blogs, or Q&A. Adding these filters would improve the user experience by allowing easier access to relevant notifications.
I hope these suggestions to the notifications feed will improve the user experience and I would love to hear the feedback from the community on these suggestions.
Regards
Virinchy
