How to change the username in SCN ?

Hello SAP,

how can I change my username, to no longer consists german "Umlauts" ?

Currently, it looks everywhere (even here in the forum) like this:

"Volker Güldenpfennig"

As you can imagine, I would prefer the following:

"Volker Gueldenpfennig"

This seems to be caused by a wrong conversion between your databases from UTF-8 to ASCII Latin-1 ...

But, I was not able to change my username ...

Could you please help me with the trick ?

Go to your profile and click edit profile in right side

Then you can change your display name.

but, that is what I tried already ;-(((

So, in my case, I cannot edit this area ....

Are you using S-user id for your account ?

Calling Jason Lax for help regarding the edit user name.

If you are using a S-user ID then you may need to change it in http://service.sap.com/myprofile

Yes, it is an S-User of my company ...

But, even there, I cannot change the data ,-((

Do you have an idea ?

This is your SCN user id. No need to call SAP for that. SCN support team will help you as soon as possible. I've already notified an expert.

you may have to contact your user admin in your company, the one who as created your S-user account.

There's also another SCN account using this e-mail address so please reach out to sapnetwork@sap.com to resolve all the issues.

Hi,

thanks - the mail is out ...

I'm the admin and I asked another admin, but first & last name seem not to be possible to be changed at all in service.sap.com ... (thiis is new to me, as I did this in the past)

let's wait on the mail results,

thanks a lot 😉
The problem got now solved by the SCN support after, that the SMP support was not responsible here. It took quite a few more mails, but the response time was with minutes really great ;-)))
