Your points have increased suddenly(from 2000 to 5600) without increase in the posts...how it happened?

Expecting a reply for my above question. If not from Prasanth, atleast from moderators.

Ravi

No M next o my name but when you see such an increase most probabely the poster used to have two or more accounts which have been merged recently. I had hundreds of points on a one day old account once because of a move-and-merger.... nothing fishy I think.

I agree with you. But if the points increased by 3000 , the number of posts should atleast be increased by 300 (3000/10). That didn't happen.

Hi

Ravi Sankar

But if the points increased by 3000 , the number of posts should atleast be increased by 300 (3000/10).

I had an old account which has been merged recently.

To your question: It looks as if the merger did not transfer the post total from all the accounts, and left these "stranded".

It is a bit like using ranges (FROM - TO values..) in security role authorization values when building a concept. You never know what will surface in between and cause possible update terminations at runtime.

You can post-process these in SM13 though. This is the moderator job interview question...

Hi

Vijay Rithvika is my daughter's name shie is 1.8 years old and i feel she is very luck for me so i have started posting queries on that id rather than contributing but when i felt that i can contibute then started contributing to the forum.

TO

Dear Lakshmipathi

It was not at all my intention to target you

why you are feeling the pain I will and all other forum members will appreciate your contributions. If you have taken it personally then I am very much sorry for that .

I was of the opinion about other moderators of the SD forum

Once again deep felt sorry if i had hurt you lakshmipathi

Oh ok. But i found two accounts of yours thats the reason i confused. Did you merge the accounts or only you changed the display name..??

Ideally you need to use one ID for posting your questions/ for contributions. but according to you it is not the case.

If you need any clarification please let me know.

Prashanth,

The last moderator interview question: Someone calling himself Rohan as well as a very close friend called Swapna are playing point-gaming in the SD General forum. Who is it?

Here is a moderator interview question for you to try:

In the thread you notice something suspicious... What do you do?

a) Investigate the suspect history of the user's points.

b) Warm up the guest-o-blaster when you find clones.

c) Document the evidence in the Moderator Forum and wait for go-live.

d) Alert the Coffee Corner for the showdown.

e) All of the above.

Hi

Still i am not satisfied with the solutions provided.

Because i have seen some Moderators who are not at all contibutiong to the forum even after getting the

M prefix this is more on sales and distribution general.

Every day i think more than 10 times i will be clicking on ABUSE button because the answers for their queries have been easily got if they had searched the forum?

what i feel is whenver the user enters the subject line when he wants to post a query the system should ask him to search him in the forum

ENJOY THE WEEKEND

> Because i have seen some Moderators who are not at all contibutiong to the forum ...

I know some folks from SAP who actively read the forums and internall contribute to the product develeopment based on the discussions (e.g. improve user friendliness and address common misunderstandings).

But perhaps you are refering to "not moderating" as opposed to "not contributing"?

> Every day i think more than 10 times i will be clicking on ABUSE button because the answers for their queries have been easily got if they had searched the forum?

I have seen your "No Search" reports, and "processed" many of them. Moderators can also see the statistics of such reports. In total 671 posts have been rejected from the S&D General forum. This excludes "straight deletes" from repeat offenders who don't check their mails anyway...

> what i feel is whenver the user enters the subject line when he wants to post a query the system should ask him to search him in the forum

Indeed, that would be cool and has been suggested a few times already - much like service.sap.com does it.

I think the "problem" here is the forum software which is not a SAP product. So it is not easy to make such changes without impacting other customers.

Abstract: Imagine what would happen to millions of Batch Input recordings if SAP changed a standard transaction such as FB01 to throw a new changed popup at the user with a configurable check in it?...

Obviously software logistics play a role, as well as release changes to (sometimes slowly) introduce new features without disrupting existing implementations.

> ENJOY THE WEEKEND

Same to you.

I had to express my disagreement on this comment since directly or indirectly this targets me also.

One thing you should understand that all Moderators are not full time SDN members and they have other routine work which they have to complete for their employers on a day today basis. As and when we as a Moderator come across any such basic / silly questions, either it will be locked or deleted and the concerned member will be warned appropriately.

It is not that Moderators after seeing such threads will keep silent.

Hi,

Agreed With Lakshmipathi, We should respect all the moderators, because not only they are monitoring the Forum but also contributing the forum and of course for their company. One such example is Lakshmipathi himself, His answers are always Perfect........

Secondly Prasanth, You have also shown a great enthusiasm for the forum and doing a great job. We all really appreciate the efforts Our moderators and contributors are giving.

The Success of SCN Lies on all of us.

HI Prasahant Goud(alias Rithvika),

Because i have seen some Moderators who are not at all contibutiong to the forum even after getting the

M prefix this is more on sales and distribution general.

Can you list out the moderators you come across in SD-General? I observed only two people moderating in SD forum..Yathish K and Lakshmipathi.

In many occassions (including this thread) members have addressed you as SHE and you never said you are a HE...why?

Your points have increased suddenly(from 2000 to 5600) without increase in the posts...how it happened?

Thanks,

Ravi

A good way to start is to display your full name...Sorry @Matt -:)

For me....You have to be very active, an expert on the forum you expect to Moderate, be engaged with the Community and of course...Be the friend of any SCN Team Member (Kidding).

Blag.

That's alright. I used to have my full name, but I got fed up being referred to as "Billing".

Hey Blag

Why is your smiley always like -:) instead of the more anatomically correct ?

Or do those dots represent some big nostrils?

PS: or is that a forehead + eyes + nose smiley (without lips)

For most parts of the year, its OK to be Billing, but when you are on the bench its unethical to say you are billing for the company

Easy...The - before the : means an internet Punk Mohawk... -:)

If I use the - as a nose too it be like -:-) And it doesn't look too fancy for me...I like to keep things short...

P.S: I don't have a Mohawk...Have it for about 3 days like 8 years ago...But I'm still a Punk guy -;)

Blag.

Yes, still billing. But not as much as I'd like. There seems to be a bit of a slowdown - not as much work around as there was.

ah well - more time to spend making members lives miserable moderating.

You are most welcome Mat.

But, you dont need to copy. You are original [as per me, of course]

And best one to answer this query,at least for today is Julius and he is already working on replies.

The link that's in the address bar of the browser doesn't always reflect what's on the screen - probably some technical geeky reason for it, like "frames". Anyway, rithvika didn't get the correct url.

In answer to the original question, I will reveal all tomorrow morning...

I hope you are joking because I think the opposite is true.

Finding nuance posts comes with abuse reports and a bit of instinct.
