How to add co-authors to a SCN document?

When writing a new SCN document I encountered a problem adding a colleaugue as a co-author.

Though my colleague  has a SCN user I wasn't able to select him in the following dialogue.

It finally worked after I choose to follow him because then I was able to select him from the list of SCN users that I am following.

Question:
What do I have to do in order to make another SCN user co-author of a document ?

Hi - You must first publish your document before you can add other editors: this is because no one else can work on your drafts.

Also note that sometimes there are multiple people with the same name. It's best to search for the user name, as found in the URL of your colleagues user profile. i.e. christoph.kraemer.
