I have started blogging only a few weeks ago and was focusing on the topic that I am working on here at SAP: Supply Chain Integrity for Pharmaceuticals, especially Track & Trace.
The basics for this work are different country legislation that I covered in my blog:http://scn.sap.com/community/life-sciences/blog/2013/11/07/track-and-trace-regulations .
But those are changing right now. President Obama just yesterday signed a new bill that changes everything especially for the US market. And new country regulations will appear (Jordan ! sic!). So how shall I reflect this in the blog? First I just edited the blog and changed it. But this made it impossible for a reader to identify the change. I also thought about just adding a comment...but this is hard to read. Then I started to cross out the parts I removed and highlight the parts I added. Then I added the date of the change because I had to change the same spot several times. But now these areas become more and more unreadable. ...so what to do?
This might not be a very common problem but I just want to hear your thoughts about this.
Thanks
Oliver
Request clarification before answering.
This is a very good question and it depends on how much you need to change.
If it's just one sentence or one paragraph, I'd cross it out and add the new text immediately after with a note: [Updated 28 Nov 2013 due to recent changes]
If there are just too many, a new blog post might be in order. On the previous one, you can slip in a note at the very beginning like this:
[November 28, 2013] Immediately after I published this post, new regulations came into effect. Please refer to my updated blog for the latest on this topic

If the plan is to maintain the always current repository of information, shouldn't it be a document/wiki rather than a blog? Some older technical blogs might also reflect information that is not current any more, but those are usually not updated and it's quite OK. Surely by looking at the date the readers must understand that the blog applies to the time when it was written.

You can edit and re-post your blog...
When press Publish, you can find an option..
Just don't tick the option.. Then it will be goes a mail to everyone who get a notification for that..
And about the changes, you can do one thing..
Suppose you had written "This is my first blog"
And now you want to change the sentence "This is my second blog"
Then you can write like that
This is my first blog This is my second blog..
In than way, others can see the changes in the same screen...
And in title, you can add a in last as like "(Updated on 15.03.2014)"
Now explain the reason in comment portion...
So that other can see the reason also..
