How is the "Alert moderator" workflow supposed to work?

When hitting the alert moderator button and sending it (after completing the information required), I heard nothing so far about how moderators have proceeded with the alert. Or if they have processed it at all. I also cannot see any trace in my Profile on this action.

What is the designated behaviour to expect? Will there be a message in the activity stream? Shouldn't there be an entry already when I send the alert away?

You will get a notification when the alert is finally processed (accept or reject). Until then, there's no way to even see the alert or what's happening with it. I'd like to be able to see the alerts I've submitted and what's going on with them, who is processing them (or not), etc.

How about keeping this question open a bit longer and if it (or your answer) gets some more upvotes then we copy it into an idea?

At least you can find out if you have submitted an alert for something already: If you click on the alert-button again, you will get a messages saying something like "you already submitted an alert for this".

Am I right in thinking you only get that message after you have typed the comment text again and ht the submit button? I'm sure that happened to me yesterday, I'd prefer to get it before...!

If the system can tell me for a particular blog if I have submitted a report for it already, how hard can it be to give me a list?

No, I got the message right when I clicked the Alert-button! (That was on a Blog I guess - maybe there's different behavior in other areas!?)

At least in BETA you got it for questions, too. I have not yet double-alerted a question after go-live, but would think this survived it. ^^

It would be nice, if the alert button would change (as does the "like" button) to show me, that I already have an alert on that content. But the messege is a start.

Steffi.

Hi martin.hinderer

Coming back to your questions 1by1,

What is the designated behaviour to expect?

1st things 1st, which is obvious that you have some patience till the results come out. As you are yourself not an SCN admin/Moderator, so these SCN moderation matter tracking right in not given to you.

Will there be a message in the activity stream?

You will get Notification alert on top of your SCN page right beside your Avatar as in yellow-color Notification ballon once only if the content has passed a Moderation review as Mr. Steve informed.

Shouldn't there be an entry already when I send the alert away?

We are keeping/using the SCN to have it in a simple way. Its not your choice or any single person choice to customize your SCN category. The alert is when the content passed/rejected by a Moderator. Although its obvious that if you have sent any content for moderation, so you will not be able to send for moderation until a Moderator has reviewed the Content. I would suggest, instead of thinking more complex in these kind of matters, you can rather focus on some other productivity areas. Although as you have already mentioned this question here & we think, you have some sort of thoughts or Ideas regarding this which you can be a bit more ellaborative, So, for that purpose the Idea Place was introduced where you can search for similar ideas & up-vote to show your support or can create a new query, if you think that what you have is unique & no others are thinking the way you are thinking.

Thanks,

Kaushik
