If you read these two threads here:
you'll see why I am suggesting here that Somnath Manna be officially certified by SAP as a "BPXpert".
(I know there are many others here who should also be certified as true "BPXperts" ( e.g. aRS, NXO, Rich, Thom, Narendran, Suresh, Uwe, etc). - but Somnath works in the specialized area of SCM-APO so his "BPXpertise" is perhaps not as well-known to the larger SDN community as the expertise of these other "pros" here at SDN.)
If you do read the threads, you'll see that Somnath's answer to my specific question was a "value-added" answer in the sense that he provided a piece of general information which is critical to the general question of "reverse engineering" CIF function modules back to ECC Integration Models.
Here is that piece of information:
+*If you have an "inbound" CIF FM on the APO side like "/SAPAPO/CIF_TLANE_INBOUND", you should have a partner FM on the ECC side like "CIF_TLANE_SEND."
By providing this piece of information, Somnath not only answered the specific question about how to reverse engineer from CIF to Intgegration Model (because we can see what is fed to the ECC FM and where it comes from), but also the critical recipe in the "reverse cookbook" for going from any APO CIF FM back to the ECC Integration Model.
I was seriously going to suggest to SAP Education that they give a course in the technical infrastructure of SCM-APO CIF, but Somnath has actually just done that - he's given us all a mini-tutorial on that topic which provides enough information to further learn about the topic on our own.
Another example of "SDNpower" which MarkAndMark, Marilyn, and Craig can justly be proud of.
Request clarification before answering.
Thanks David !

While I would love to get my hands on such a course - the [CIF Wiki|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SCM/CIF] page should be a good starting point for now.
Hope to put in a Blog on the experiment done today. You can share your experience especially from the technical / "geeksmart" perspective.

Somnath

Hey Somnath -
If/when you do get a chance to do the blog post, will it be a regular SDN blog at the main SDN blog page or a blog at one of your pages here.
I don't want to miss it.
By the way, if your WIKI does covers the basic concept of "partner" SEND and INBOUND functions on the ECC and APO sides, then I apologize for asking my "reverse engineering"/"reverse cookbook" question first.
However, even if I understood this critical "partner" concept, it still would have taken me a lot longer than you to reverse engineer the "SEND" FM on the ECC side back to the ECC integration model.
Plus - as we know, I don't have the required SEND module on my ECC system here.
Best regards
djh
