It is not so easy as the secretary is saying cos today whatever Hyderabad today is because lots of investments made by the Andhradites and Rayalaseema people, mostly andhra people in Hyderabad. It is better said than done.
They have invested in Real Estate,Infrastructure, business and what not. They wont let it go so easy.
Hi All,
Whenever the topic of Telangana is raised, many of us blindly support Andhra or Telangana based on where we come from. Not sure how many really think of why the demand for separate state has been there for such a long time. The 2 major reasons why the demand has been pending for so many years is WATER AND HYDERBAD. People around the state have earned and invested in and around Hyderabad so there is a concerns about the safety of the investment if the state is separated while both the major rivers in our state flow mostly through Telangana. Below are some facts that are few reasons for the demand. Sentiments can be foolish but not facts.
§ There are 10 districts in Telangana, 9 in Andhra and 4 in Rayalaseema. Out of these 7 districts in Telangana, 3 in Andhra and 1 in Rayalaseema are considered severely backward districts which means 70% of districts in Telangana are backward while in Andhra it is 35% and in Rayalaseema it is 25%. Apart from these there are some areas in all parts of the state which are also backward.
§ 45% of the state income comes from Telangana region. When it comes to utilization of funds, the share of Telangana is only 28%.
§ Normally canals are dug to supply water to the crops from rivers for cultivation. The amount of land cultivated through canals in just Guntur district is more than the land cultivated with canals in entire Telangana region.
§ Nagarjuna sagar dam is built in Nalgonda district which is in Telangana but majority of the water from the dam is used for Krishna and Guntur district. The original dam was supposed to be build much ahead of its present location but the location was changed so that it falls in the Telangana region. Due to the construction of the dam several hectares of Lime stone mines vanished as part of the dam back waters. Everyone know that lime stone is used for producing cement. Even the natural resources were not allowed to remain.
§ Fluorinated water problem is only in Nalgonda district which has not been resolved since decades.
§ Two major rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra enter the state of AP in the district of Mahaboobnagar(the biggest district in Telangana) but the district always remains the worst draught hit areas along with Anantapur because there is no project and process with which the water can be utilized. The plans for utilization has been pending for decades.

> OK.Accepted.
> But who is resposible for all these things.
> What are the concerned area M.P.'s and M.L.A's doing ?
> Now they r going on hunger strikes, they should put pressure on the central or state govt in the same fashion when their demands on developments in their areas are not met.
I absolutely agree with MIrza, these leaders should fast unto death for the development of the region, they slept all this years and now they want a seperate state,so that they can compensate the earning they could not make all these years while they were sleeping...

Now the concern is the same.................Its not the real people who are really fighting its again the political People who are now fighting...But As like always the destruciton is now happening to Common People!!
Lets wait and See the ANDHRA-TELANGANA-RAYALSEEMA Movie what happens:
Actors: KCR, LAGADAPATI , ROSAYA , CHIDAMBARAM,SONIYA,e.t.c Other junior artists...
But intresting thing is for few regions Few characters are hero's and Rest and vilans and Vice-Versa..
Sas
The TRS is saying Andraites are exploiting them in Jobs and resources
first let us know the Telangana Geographically
When Krishna and Godavari Flows from Telangana why they are not able to use the Water because
*"Across The Globe when the water flows from Up side Down the culvation cannot be happened thru Cannels as done by people of Andhra they Should go to Lift Irrigation which very Costly "
and Regarding Jobs yes i agree there is some inequality but as per the Posts they should Allot right and those people who are haveing good knowldge they shd get the job right
Example :
Hyderabad is in Telangana so 75% of SAP Implementation Should be Given to Telganites and rest to Andhra people does this statement justifies in bringing the Qulaity of work the same as per the jobs
*Back word ness pre
valils every where Ananathaput in Rayalaseema , Srikakaulam in North Andhra these are very worst back developed areas*
but ultimatley common man is neither benefitting with this one nor looseing anything .................
A twist in the story -
Dec. 13: Politicians in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema have dubbed the Telangana statehood proposal a conspiracy by Tamils and Kannadigas to divide and weaken their state, raising fears of violence and inter-state tensions.
Agitators have blocked borders at many places, stalling bus, truck and train movement to and from the two neighbouring states. They accuse the Tamil Union home minister P. Chidambaram and the Kannadiga law minister Veerappa Moily of engineering the central nod on Telangana with wrong advice to Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi.
Even Bengal hasnu2019t been spared: police said trains from Chennai to Howrah were stopped by mobs today with slogans of u201CDown with Pranab Mukherjeeu201D even as Chennai-bound trains were greeted with u201CDown with Chidambaramu201D.
Most of the anger, however, is directed at the u201CThambisu201D u2014 a Tamil word meaning u201Cbrotheru201D (like dada in Bengali) that has come to stand for Tamils in general. The theme of regional jealousies, however, means that for once the u201Ccow beltu201D u2014 the traditional target of southern conspiracy theorists u2014 is not at the receiving end.
Samaikya (Integrated) Andhra activists in Nellore have been burning effigies of Chidambaram, who had made the pro-Telangana announcement on the Centreu2019s behalf.
u201CIt was a collective decision by the Centre. But since Chidambaram made the announcement, he is being singled out as the villain and his Tamil identity highlighted to target Tamils,u201D a Congress MP from Tamil Nadu said.
Statues of Tamil leaders such as M.G. Ramachandran and Kamaraj have allegedly been attacked in border towns, and agitators have tried to close the sluice gates of Kandaleru reservoir, from where the Krishnau2019s waters are diverted to quench Chennaiu2019s thirst.
Agitators have also stopped the transport of milk, vegetables, eggs, chicken and oil from Anantpur to Karnataka for the past three days. Tamil Nadu traffic, and supplies, have been blocked in Chittoor and Tirupati.
u201CBoth Tamil Nadu and Karnataka were envious of Andhrau2019s strides in IT and irrigation,u201D said P. Keshav, Telugu Desam leader from Anantpur, pointing a finger at Moily, the Congress leader in charge of Andhra affairs.
u201CThey realised that only Andhrau2019s bifurcation would halt its economic growth and thereby their states would get a chance to grow in importance on the national stage.u201D The Congress MLA from Kurnool, T.G. Venkatesh, echoed him.
Also under fire are home secretary G.K. Pillai, national security adviser M.K. Narayanan and Intelligence Bureau additional director S. Jayaraman, all accused of being in cahoots with Chidambaram.
Backlash fears
The anti-Tamil protests have generated fears of a backlash in Tamil Nadu, where Telugus make up a fifth of Chennaiu2019s population and are present in large numbers in the northern districts.
Andhra chief minister K. Rosaiah has warned protesters in his state that if they vent their anger on Tamils, the large number of Telugus in Tamil Nadu could face reprisals. Such threats have already begun coming from Tamil Nadu, where activists have blockaded some border points against vehicles from Andhra.
The Telugus of Chennai control large interests in the film, real estate and hotel industries u2014 so, anti-Telugu reprisals would hurt not only the victims but also Tamil Naduu2019s economy.
A large number of Tamils live in Andhra, too, especially in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Vizag. Many have jobs with central organisations like the railways, the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Indian Space Research Organisation.
Karuna pinch
Tamil Nadu chief minister M. Karunanidhi today criticised ally Congress over its handling of the Telangana issue.
u201CAll this shows that a delayed announcement should not be followed by a hasty decision,u201D he said. He meant the Centre, instead of deciding the matter on its own, had kept dithering till K. Chandrasekhar Raou2019s fast forced its hand.
Karunanidhi shot down the proposal by the PMK and a few fringe parties to bifurcate Tamil Nadu along a north-south axis.
u201CNeither the DMK nor the people of the state support such a decision,u201D he said.
Hi
In the wake of the latest resignations across all partys MLA's in AP,I really doubt If Telangana formation will happen at all, even Congress MPs from AP are resigning which could lead to crisis at the centre for Congress.

Here is the update from Rosaiah himself:

@ Vikranth
yes as before andhra pradesh it is called as Madras Presidency
and if telegana is seprated means then also so many people from andhra become refugee in hydrabad
@ Viswas
As per the Consititution divideing the state is not a Easy Task it involves is lot of Caluculation and all other things includeing the other states demands and goverment stabliliey and support from the opposition and the coillation government
but the only thing is the innocent people both from the telangana and andhra shd get suffered because of this issue....
Yes,people are suffering because of this. Last 10 days have been a nightmare to people living in the city of Hyderabad, with strikes everywhere, around 250 crores of loss in business during the 2 day strike, and people are living in constant fear.
Students who are supposed to be in colleges shaping thier careers are on roads, thats the more sorry part of this whole agitation, and that is what made me think what will be the future If students get involved in active politics.
Vishwa.
The Students who are on the stirke during these 10 days have not realised the basic activity of politics
the want separate telangana yes agreed because of it back word ness so what all these people doing during all these days
Violence can be done not only by them but every one in the world form Pakisthan to Inidia or Palestine to Israel
but the the stirke which they are during all these days have been diverted from the root cause is loss
As of now they wont realise but in future defnately they will realise
The first Victim will be the Congress Party which is in Center goverment
yes
Dinesh for some people it is party time and some people it is some what time to rethink Especially for the people who belongs to andhra settled in Telengana mostly i Hyderabad
But forming a seaparate State is not a small thing ...... there may be lost of things that shd be taken care

If the seperation does happen, am not even sure in which state i was born, whether Andhra Pradesh or Telangana I should better be checking that first.
On a serious note, i don't feel the serperation will do any good to the country. What if everyone in the different parts of the states start being on a fast to have their own state? How will the government justify their stand? Am sure there are many a parts in different states which are under developed and in poverty and who might belive having a seperate state can improve their condition. So the government will keep on dividing all the states?
IMO splitting a state doesnot harm the country in any way - apart from the fact that every teeny weeny group will start asking for their own state
On the contrary, splitting such a large state helps in better administration, if nothing else. Remember Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh were split just to ensure better administration, as they become smaller in size. The same formula applies to AP which is one of the Big Five States in India.
Also I feel it does not jeopardise the Unity In Diversity concept in India, since Telagana is made not for a particular language speaking people, but just because of its backwardness and neglect over the years.
But then its still early days for Telangana to offer an opinion. So just lets wait and watch for the time being.
Thank goodness I was not born in AP otherwise I would have been confused over the sudden change of my place of birth

That itself could become quite a problem. There has been no control over the law and order situation in Hyderabad for the past few days and quite a few people have died in the protests be it for Telangana or against seperation of Telangana. If this is just a one off incident , then as you said it could well go un noticed. But if every one does the same in other states as well, i think it would definitely harm the country with loss of lives and damage to the public property.
