Global SCN meet in Vienna...

I am living in vienna and I could try to organize something if TECHED and SCN isn't doing anything. But my latest info is that there will be some kind of Community Day or Community Event the day before TECHED.

Maybe someone with more knowledge could tell us some more on SCNs plans.

I don't have more knowledge, but my understanding is that the budget cuts started an urban legend that it was cancelled.

Last I heard there will be a community day but, as with each year actually, it will be different....

I also remember Craig's efforts last year to encourage people to sign up for community day and also pitch for the event. But now with the possibility of watching the demos on the big screen while parked out at "long deep leeward" (not sure if that is correct) I think it will take off.

I think some re-enactment of a Quintine Tarantino movie is being planned for remote spot in a US desert as well.

I guess we just have to wait, and that is no reason not to plan a game / party the day before as well.

Well I missed last year meeting, but this year I'm going to Vienna, be nice to have a SCN day but if it doesn't happen I'll be having a Beer anyway!, who else is coming?

I'm seriously considering it. But it would be nice to know if there is a community day, so if necessary I can arrive Sunday evening. If I am going, I want to get the early bird registration and book before 31st July. Trouble is, with flights and accomodation, I'll be lucky to spend less than u20AC3000. And, as a freelancer, I'm also losing billable days... On the other hand, I'm not having a summer holiday this year, so maybe I deserve the time away from the client site.

Right, I've registered for teched. Now all I need to know is whether I need to fly out sunday or monday... and book a hotel accordingly.

I'm going to arrive in Vienna on the Monday. Perhaps by plane, or maybe drive with Julius. But I've got my hotel booked. It's not on the SAP list, costs about the same, but is 1km from the Messe. So closer than the others (which still have available rooms) on the list.

So as everyone knows there is no "Community Day" like in past years but for those who are doing a session for the "Virtual Community Day" or should I call it "Days" since it's the entire month of September will get an invite along with Mentors to a special Community Evening event.

This will happen the day before the event but later in the day and not early morning.

I'll be posting a blog today about where/what/why about the Cluetrain idea for this year as well.

Great, because Julius and I arrive on the Monday just after midday. We're going by plane. He'll leave his Königsegg at my house - the keys with my wife in case she needs to move it for any reason.

It would nevertheless be nice to meet up on October 26th, so count me in as a hopeful. Let's see if there is more feedback.

We probably had too much of a good time last year.

Registration in open between midday and 8pm the day before teched, so it might be good to arrive early.
