I tried to follow posts by tag LOB_68 (whatever that means), but the button is visible, but not active.
I noticed that it is available for tag SAP ERP.
For tag html5 the button is not visible.
Am I missing some important concept here - e.g. only specific primary tags can be followed or it is because of the early beta stage or it is something completely different?
Browser used - Firefox ESR 45.1.1.
I actually wanted to see what will be the result if I follow SAP ERP and html5 and somebody creates content with both tags.
Hi Veselina,
Can you point me to the blog post you were testing with?
We are using 2 set of tags: one is governed centrally, coming from the official SAP metadata schema, e.g. SAP ERP. These can be used as primary and/or secondary tags.
The other "set" are user tags that can be created and used by any user. I think in the example you provided, html5 and LOB_68 are user tags. These are part of a local set of WordPress and cannot be followed centrally.
In general, if you follow two separate tags you will get updates whenever there is something happening to content tagged with any of them.
Best,
Gabi

link for SAP ERP with active button: https://blogs.sap.com/sap/sap1/erp/73554900100700000951/01200615320800000659/
link fir html5 with no button https://blogs.sap.com/tag/html5/
link for lob_68 with inactive button : https://blogs.sap.com/sap/lob_68/
I also thought that html5 and lob_68 are user tags and that it could be a possible reason, but then I wondered why the button is displayed (inactive) for the first one and not displayed at all for the second. Is there a third form of tags or it is related to what my browser supports?
I just saw in IE11 that https://blogs.sap.com/sap/lob_68/ shows additional information for the follow button - information about subscription functionality temporary unavailable, which I did not see in Firefox, so it could have something to do also with what FF ESR supports.
Thanks for the links!
I checked and:
SAP ERP: managed tag, correctly having the button and active
html5: user tag, correctly not showing the button
LOB_68: this is a managed tag's unique technical ID, it should show a real name(some product, topic...etc) instead of this and be followable. I sent it to our IT colleagues for fixing.
Thanks Veselina,
I've added it to our known bugs list: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-72804
