External conection using SAProuter

Hello ALL:

We are discussing about to use SAProuter for external conection to our SAP systems instead a VPN software, in order that our consultants can work with SAP system from home or from anywhere.

IS this a good idea for that or allways is better to use a third party software to conect remotely?

Hi Enrique,

This depends on the requirement and the budget.

SAP Router is freely available and needs a small system to install and operate. But apart from SAP connection, there is no security for other connections.

If you go for third party vendors, then the cost involved may be high but you may get additional security.

So i recommend you take the security and budget into consideration and decide accordingly.
