Hi ,
We are implementing ESS with EP6.
1)Can some body clarify that all ESS users need regular SAPID to be created (e.g from SU01)? If No, then how do you maintain all these users ? If yes then does it affact the License Policy ?
2) How to create ESS user using HRUSER tx with CUA implemented. (means we are using solution manager as CUA client and R/3 works as child system)?
Thanks,

Hi Jaymin
Yes, you still need to create a userid in R/3 (su01) for users to access ESS via the Portal. You actually need to set the user up in the Portal and R/3 because ESS in the portal is just the front end for a heap of R/3 functionality. Yes, there are licensing implications. All the new users need to have an R/3 and portal license I believe.
Sorry, don't know the answer to your other question.

Janine

Jaymin,
Janine is right. If you want all the ESS users to access
ESS functionality from portal, they all should be named users with limited ESS role(SAP_EMPLOYEE)
We have ESS license for all the employees (which is a lot less priced I heard) and a limited number of R/3 licenses for Business/Power users.
